/e/os
I really wanted to get away from the google surveillance, so a couple of days ago I got myself a CMF Phone 1 and installed /e/os. I really liked the phone, for a budget phone, I got it for ca. 160 EUR, it’s really very nice. But here I want to talk about the software, so let’s do that. /e/os is okay but I also don’t like a couple things. The choice of pre-installed apps is really kind of weird to me. They default to their own search engine and you can’t really remove it, at least not in the search bar on the main screen. the home screen feels just somewhat weird for example I like to arrange the app icons manually but somehow it doesn’t let me do it I’m not sure if this is us or android. on android I was usually always able to do it. It feels a bit like they are trying to turn Android into iOS which I really don’t like.
